Hello,
I tried to Google it but I didn’t get a good answer. Does someone know the difference between pizza barese and pizza tonda romana? They seem to be the same type of pizza but I’m probably missing something.
Is the pizza tonda romana the pizza that’s most commonly eaten outside of Napels, or does every region have it’s own style?
Thank you!
I’m absolutely no expert (even though I’m italian 😁) but I’ll try to answer. The most traditional pizza is the one served in Naples and usually has a soft edge (no idea what is the correct term) (https://ricette.giallozafferano.it/Pizza-napoletana.html) Pizza romana should be a slightly different recipe from the one above and usually is “lower” and more crisp. (https://ricette.giallozafferano.it/Pizza-Romana.html) Pizza barese might be focaccia barese? (https://ricette.giallozafferano.it/Focaccia-barese.html)
In general you can find all kind of pizza across Italy but sometimes you get the real taste, others you don’t !
