I can’t take it anymore. I’ve been messing with this stuff for two days straight. I have an Asus router and I have several Nordvpn clients on the router that I use. I set up the pihole. I changed the DNS server on the Asus router to point to the pihole. I changed the upstream servers on the pihole twice, first to Nordvpn’s own DNS servers and then back to the router itself. Nothing is working correctly.

The VPN on my router will work fine for a bit- it’ll let me use Netflix in a different country for example- and then it’ll just stop and I have to turn the VPN on and off again to get it to work. I’ve checked for DNS leaks and there are none. I’ve installed Nordvpn on the raspberry pi itself with openvpn to use alongside the VPN on the router. I’ve removed ipv6 from the raspberry pi. I’ve set the interface settings to “permit all origins”. Nothing will stay working. Please tell me someone here has some advice.

The VPN worked fine on the router until I set up the pihole- so I know that’s the issue, that they’re not working well together- I’ve honestly never done anything like this before. I’m not very familiar with network stuff and I’m just confused and frustrated. The internet works fine no matter what I do, so I’m not sure that there’s been anything wrong with the DNS servers.

Please help. Thank you for reading.
