Is there any application based surveillance software for linux? I am currently using ISpy with 2 wired webcams on a windows 7 computer that is not connected to the internet. All it does is record then replace old recordings with new ones after a specified time. It also takes pictures every few minutes which also gets replaced after a specified time. The program is run on the computer only, stored on a local drive, and can not be connected to remotely or via a web based browser. This works for me but since windows 7 is end of life, I want to create something similar on another old computer using linux mint. I want the same functionality without having to use a web browser to control. Is there a free application based surveillance software for linux mint that will allow me to do literally what I am achieving with ISpy? Basically I want a surveillance application that doesn’t have the functionality to be assessed though a web browser (like ISpy) but for Linux Mint. I do plan on having this second system connected to internet and am afraid of the security risks/ ease of access of anyone other than me.

Edit: I am new to Linux, tried it a few years ago (Ubuntu) for a Minecraft server with plugins which failed miserably and I haven’t tried since. I just installed Mint yesterday and have been playing around with it a but since.
