Every day, I spend the first hour of the day blacklisting external IP addresses that are hitting my firewall. These could be bot probes/attacks, or other things picked up by my IPS. I know that bad guys can easily change their IP via VPN or even going on a different network.
Does anyone do this, is it overkill? I probably block 80 addresses a day.
