I have an upcoming entry-level interview with a FAANG-ish org for detection/threat intel engineer.
They’ve mentioned the next stage is a “simple coding interview on threat detection/intel”, on one of those coding sites that I swear only SWEs use (think leetcode).
In the JD, it mentions Python, AWS, GCP.
Does anyone know what the hell they’re going to ask me to do/test me on? I have no idea what I should be studying: basic fundamental Python in leetcode style? or actual use cases of Python in security detection? I’ve never had to use Python at any previous job yet, let alone for a security interview.
Obviously if I have to ask this, there’s a high likelihood I will not pass, but I want to get as much out of this experience as I can.
Edit: Thanks for responses so far. I’ll add that they specifically mentioned the interview will be on Hackerrank - is that implying it will be an existing exercise on the site (and therefore a generic python test)? Or does hackerrank have security specific python stuff?
