I tried to print a simple part. I printed 100+ good parts in the last months. The first 20min everything was perfect - as always. Then a strange Y drift started. First a millimeter, then two, then three - the print was ruined. I switched my filament. I checked everything. All screws, all belts, tight - fine. All good. Next print - same problem. Damn. Third print - and I watched. I looked at the Y belt - and I could see the error. The belt shaked in a sinus wave. First a bit, then stronger. Resolution: I switched the infill pattern, rotated the part 90° and moved it from the 0 point of the Y axis to minus 5cm. Perfect print. Sometimes it makes sense to watch the process …
