This company I work for has a small parking lot, but it takes about 3-5 minutes to walk from the lot to the actual work site. You’re allowed to clock in in the parking lot or somewhere near the entrance of the lot, but when you clock out, you have to be like 3 feet from the office door.
They recognize that walking to the worksite when you’re already on their property is labor, so they let you clock in when you arrive. I can only assume they do this to “motivate” you and activate work mode in your brain. But if they recognize this walk as labor, then am I unreasonable to say they’re stealing money from me, and also wasting my resources?
I’m planning on getting a used android phone and spoof my location so I can clock in and arrive 10 minutes late. Fuck them
