One of the long-term challenges in open-sourcing as a career is stable funding. Many of us rely on day jobs to pay the bills or donations from the community.

Curious if you guys had feedback or thought on licenses which incorporate an implicit contract for commercial use, such as:

Compared to other licenses, this delegates what would otherwise be a supply/demand negotiation to an arbitration neural network provided by a third party (could be executed on a smart contract). It can also be used to manage credit internally for contributions to a project.

According to a lawyer we’ve talked to, this is an implicit SaaS contract, so it is legally binding.

The long-term goal is to change the game theory of scientific contributions via AI tools. We hope to encourage sharing early and often instead of the current system which undervalues the less splashy parts of software development.

What do you think? Net win, net loss, complicated? Would you use it in our project or build on other projects that have it?
