Apparently, it used to be possible not long ago. However, I just cant play Dead by Daylight from the Heroic Games Launcher by any means, I cant get past the “Could not locate game executable entry in the catalogue (DeadByDaylight-EGS-Shipping.exe)” error. So far I’ve tried following the steps listed in the AreWeAnticheatYet github and many other places:
- Set the PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME env var to steam’s proton eac runtime folder
- copy or symlink the /EasyAntiCheat folder to /DeadByDaylight/Binaries/EGS/EasyAntiCheat/
- Proton 7.0, 8.0 and GE 8.3
The first two seem to work to some degree, because not ticking the Enable Proton eac runtime box in heroic or setting the env var causes an error “EAC client cannot be instantiated” and, without copying the EasyAntiCheat folder, the error is “Easy Anti-Cheat Hash Catalogue not found” (error code 1). As I mentioned, by following those two steps I get to that DeadByDaylight-EGS-Shipping.exe error that I just cant solve.I have also tried to repair or forcedly update the game, nothing changed.Has anyone found a solution yet?
Edit: Im using archlinux and the native package of heroic
