minus-squareMeDuViNoX@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up17·6 months agoY’all like water? Now get ready for water 2, thick edition. 🥵😫
minus-squareflicker@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up11·6 months agoI was caring for someone on a thickened liquids restriction and it is… awful. So many great things are made not great by thickening.
minus-squaremojo_raisin@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·6 months agoOh this real? I assumed it was AI. Excuse me while I vomit profusely.
minus-squareflicker@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up6·edit-26 months agoPeople who have survived things like a stroke might have trouble swallowing liquids without choking, so you have to thicken them. ETA; I think memory care patients go that way towards the end, too, like Alzheimer’s.
minus-squaremojo_raisin@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·6 months agoInteresting, thanks, I was wondering.
minus-squareResol van Lemmy@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·6 months agoIsn’t that just heavy water (D2O) chemically? Wouldn’t that kill you if you consume too much of it? Am I deserving of downvotes?
minus-squareFemboyNB@lemmy.blahaj.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up13·6 months agoNo, its a gel-thing for people who have problems swallowing
minus-squareMeDuViNoX@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up1·6 months agoIt basically just increases the viscosity.
minus-squareResol van Lemmy@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·6 months agoHow would that affect the human body?
minus-squareMeDuViNoX@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up1·6 months agoI suppose it would make hydration easier for stroke victims, like another comment said. It also might make bathroom time a lot more scary.
minus-squareKillingTimeItself@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·6 months agojust wait until you find out about heavy water.
minus-squareHolzkohlen@feddit.delinkfedilinkarrow-up3arrow-down1·6 months agoI’d rather die from dehydration than buy bottled water.
minus-squareHonytawk@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkarrow-up13·6 months agoThen you are lucky you can drink the tap water where you are.
minus-squareMeDuViNoX@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up1·edit-26 months agoHopefully they filter it themselves or have well water clean enough to drink. But that does seem like a tap water type of response, lol. I think the message they’re trying to convey is that plastic is bad for the environment and bottled water is one of the biggest contributers.

minus-squareMeDuViNoX@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up5arrow-down2·6 months agoWell, lucky you, because you can buy the powder and add it to any water. Also, yes, fuck bottled water.
minus-squareKillingTimeItself@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·6 months agoluckily for you, nestle believes that exact same thing!

I get it now.
