2·4 hours agoOpenshot? Did you check this site https://alternativeto.net/ for alternatives? If all you do is cutting videos, then maybe losslesscut would be good for you too.

Home@lemmy.zip•Lemmy.zip & Piefed.zip Server Update November 2026English
3·5 days agoThank you. It’s really a headache to run a server or a website these days from what I’m reading. Has it always been like that, excluding the price of hosting ofc?
Not American but what about competing billionaires, those who have different interest etc.? they are not single group, same to everywhere, or perhaps a show to give the people the illusion of choice like Pepsi and Cola or that they’re in democracy. Wasn’t there a research paper that called US is basically ruled by an oligarchy? It wasn’t some kind of a conspiracy site but a research group or something like that.

privacy@lemmy.ca•Governments are hacking people with ‘zero-click’ spyware by showing them online adsEnglish
3·9 days agoDefinitely. Just additional information for users who use Windows, Simplewall which is basically a GUI of the built-in firewall of Windows but it does its job well. I’m sure there’s something like that for Linux too. Hostman is also a good tool although not sure if it’s still getting updated where you can put blocked IPs, ones used with Ublock for example, into the host file of Windows. And lastly, from your router, but this method I have never tried it and neither mine support it.

22·11 days agoSo using Ublock Origins is mandatory for staying safe on the web, but i guess most people here are probably using it. Btw this isn’t something new, malvertising has always been a thing.

Gaming@lemmy.zip•"System Shock and Deus Ex, they were RPGs. People called them RPGs": Gloomwood's publisher isn't too keen on using the term immersive sim despite it being oneEnglish
8·14 days agoSure, everyone knows what an RPG is, but they do also have certain expectations that come with them, such as stats and the like that you don’t typically find in imsims. Ahah! Maybe that’s the difference. Immersive sims are RPGs without the stats.
Both of these games had stats so they were RPGs. I think Thief is more like immersive sim or can be actually called as such since you don’t need to build your character at all. The game gives you all the tools and you’re on your own. it depends on the player how he wants to play the game, whether going full ghosting without killing or knocking or just backstabbing anyone on sight etc.

https://www.freac.org/ is a nice program if you’re going to do that.
