To my knowledge, Lemmy can’t preview directly for a .gif file. Unless users open the link directly
Just a heads up, it’s better to convert them as a .webm file than .gif.
Uploading a .gif file directly like here is quite confusing for users to know because it just looks like a picture (rather than a GIF)
But if when you open the image you see the gif then it shouldn’t matter how I upload it. In any case for next time I will do what you say about converting the gif to webm file. Thanks for the advice
That’s what I’m saying. It’s just about the “preview” on Lemmy didn’t work for that kind of file.
It’s not necessary to convert it if you don’t want to. I’m just commenting, in case you didn’t know. And probably some users don’t realize that post was a gif lol. Because it just looks like a picture
