Following on from the image that leaked earlier today claiming to show the as yet unannounced PlayStation 5 Slim we now have a video of the shell of the new model.
As you can see the disc drive bump is actually more prominent than the first leak claimed and the video doesn’t show the rear of the console.
Obviously with all leaks you should take this with a pinch of salt but it does look, on the surface at least, like a genuine console shell.
I am confused, the PS5 is already out???
It’s a newer, supposedly thinner version of the hardware. Like the PS1 vs the PSOne or the PS2 vs the PS2 Slim.
It’s a new one. Supposedly has a removable disc drive.
There better be regular USB ports on here - people still use regular USB storage devices and it’s annoying to have to switch to using dongles for using devices like Apple does with generic headphones for iOS devices…
No. USB A sucks and I can’t wait for it to disappear. If you want to use a USB a it just take a tiny $4 adapter.
Why is USB Type-C so much better in your opinion?
Not having to deal with usb-a superposition is a big selling point.
Oh I remember that meme of the USB Superposition…
Can plug in both ways, stronger build, stronger hold when plugged in much smaller, accepts faster transfer rates, accepts higher voltages for charging, is still retro compatible with USB A. If you don’t want to deal with adapters buy new USB C cables. I bought some USB C to micro USB to plug my things to my Mac and it’s great! You can get cheap cables on AliExpress.
That’s shocking to learn that USB Type-C is somehow stronger than the original USB type. How is that possible?
There’s probably still two on the back.
This disc drive is removable?? Looks like a solid plate, so if it’s really removable then you have to remove the whole plate. Does i see that wrong?
You should more often link your sorces.
I did. The link to the video.
The plates on the new one look like they’re split so presumably you would take the plate off, take the disc drive out and put a new plate on the bottom.
The removable drive as been rumoured for over year but it’s still just a rumour. There’s a chance it’s just a slightly smaller and more efficient PS5.
