Hi. I appreciate if you can share your wear and tear (as well as color fading) with the scuba hoodie you own. (half zip, full zip and funnel neck).

Especially for the scubas that you wear on regular basis. (not like once a month)

I see a lot of bad reviews on the web site so it would be helpful if you can share your experience.

I own 2. First one was purchased in March 2022, half zip in Heathered Core Ultra Light Grey. I have worn this over 100 times, and it is still in good shape.

The stains do come out and a there is bit of pilling in the inner fleece.

The second one was Funnel Neck in Grey Sage. Bought March 2022, and developed a tiny hole in the ribbed fabric area under the left armpit in 6months.

Also, I washed this in cold gentle cycle inside out, but after the laundry was done to so I can air dry, the scuba was not wet/damp at all as if was water repellent…

Also, there is some color fading and I don’t know but some weird stains on the back which I have no clue. (not like I spilled food/drink )

Since then, I do not feel like buying any more Scubas but just wear the HCUL until it breaks.

They do shrink. Additionally, my black full zip has faded quite a bit, I had a deep luxe full zip that after about 8 washes the seam on both sleeve cuffs started coming undone (quality promise replaced with gift card). Recently I ordered a lilac ether half zip and noticed a loose seam on the back so I immediately returned it. Otherwise I haven’t had additional issues, but after the seam issues I now order 2 of what I want and examine the stitching closely and keep whichever one looks like it will hold up better/doesn’t have flaws. And fwiw I haven’t had any piling issues.

For me personally I went into it with realistic expectations. They have a high cotton content, so they’re going to shrink and fade. That being said, I wash all my blue/green clothes together, black clothes together, pink/purple, light grey and white together. So my fading has been pretty minimal. I have cats and haven’t really had any issues with nails causing holes. It’s only due to the fact the newer ones have cheaper fabric I’m not buying much anymore. Quality is more like the dupes out there. It’s like they’re trying to dupe themselves to save a buck on production, all while still charging more.

Thank you for sharing! I can tell it has shrunk. But I wonder why that happend when the other one is okay.

In terms of color fading, it looks good looking at the picture. (meaning does not look faded.)

I have the black (full zip regular length scuba) and I’ve washed it maybe 2 or 3x (but I’m a wear 10x wash once girl for hoodies) and it looks super faded. Other than that it’s held up well (no piling on the outside and still reasonably soft on the inside).

My loungeful in a fuschia shade (I don’t remember the exact name) has seen a lot more use and countless washes and a dose of grandma’s secret stain remover to get cooking oil of it. It looks a good as the day I got it and feels just as soft on the inside. I’m definitely team loungeful now.

They shrink and the more saturated the color the more it will fade regardless of how you watch it (eg color protector detergent). And now, new issue that I’ve seen on this sub, hard to zip because the material catches in the zipper 💀💀💀

They are definitely thinner and way lower in quality.

I’d only buy a scuba if it was a color I absolutely loved or a neutral color that won’t fade like heathered bone, grey etc.

Personally speaking - I own two of the OG full zip scubas. They have not faded after many cold wash and air dry cycles. One is “camo green multi” and the other is “heathered speckled black”. They look new. I fell in love with the funnel neck in “dark forest gold”. I’ve washed it 10 times in cold with air drying - it is fading. It’s making me nervous to spend $148 on the “espressso gold” knowing it likely will fade faster than the green.

I used to own  “heathered speckled black” and this did not fade. I am wondring if the dye that LL is using is cheap so that is why it fades within a couple of washes. (though they charge a lot…)

To see the darker NEW scubas not living up to the price and expected quality is sad. I definitely will avoid super dark colours. No navy or black. So frustrating.

I only own one scuba. Im much more a Define girl. I bought it two years ago, it’s the heathered grey full zip. I’m very rough with it, I actually treat it like any other garment. I’m not careful with it and I don’t wash it separately like I do with all of my other Lulu. I also tossed it in the dryer and it’s held up really well. I’ve worn it to my local Lululemon store a few times, and the educators have commented on how nice it still looks. No shrink. No fading. I was told in store by an educator that the one I have was made long enough ago back when they were pre-shrunk. I’ve washed this thing on hot and it’s still good. Basically I was told I got one of the “nicer” ones made back in the day w the better material. Where I live, it hardly ever gets cold enough to justify wearing this all day long, but it’s definitely something I wear in the evening to walk the dogs or on the cooler days. Between that and the material quality going down over the last couple years, I won’t be buying another one.

i have a full zip crop and i despise it. i only wear it out of necessity. the waistband fabric is all stretched out and stiff at all times and the powder blue colour stains so easy.

I only have two but they are from 9-10 years ago. Navy is faded and light heather grey looks brand new, I wear this one often. I’m not sure I would buy a scuba again

I love navy, too. But navy fades over time. (Any brand.) that is why I decided not to buy Navy scuba and stick with my heather grey… Also, I feel like darker color stains so easily, or is it just me?

I have two that are several years old that have holes all over the sleeve seams. I wash and hang dry them so I’m not really sure why it happened. I still wear them around the house and for walks etc.

I have a sizable collection of both 1/2 zip hoodies and 1/2 zip funnel neck scubas, with a couple full zip crops. Approximately half I’ve gotten brand new and half secondhand, all manufactured between 2021-2023. There’s a small noticeable quality difference between older and newer, so maybe look into buying them secondhand if that’s an issue. I haven’t noticed any quality/manufacturing defects on my scubas upon first inspection (leggings are a different story!) On any given day as an exercise addicted gym teacher I’m usually wearing a scuba (I wear each ~4-5x before washing) and usually cycle them out for longevity. I only wash my scubas with each other on delicate with cold water and hang to dry. With all that being said, I’ve noticed certain funnel necks having more visible wear/fading/softness loss (specifically psychic & ripened raspberry, both of which I got secondhand so idk how they were cared for prior), but haven’t noticed much difference in the hoodies or full zips. I have a lot of vibrant and jewel tone colors plus some neutral ones and most haven’t faded at all! The only ones I worry about staining are sonic yellow and electric turquoise since they’re lighter, but I don’t baby them and haven’t had any serious problems. I got a large unknown dark stain on my poolside scuba at school that broke my heart but I was able to get it out with some dawn soap- it’s good as new. Overall I LOVE my scubas and can see myself wearing them for years to come with continued care!

I have two full zips, two half zips, and a funnel. I wear them literally every single day (working from home) and the lighter colours I wear in the evenings in the summer. So honestly, hardly a day goes by I’m not wearing one. They’re expensive but worth it IMO, none of mine have washed badly or lost their shape, agree stains are easy to get out, no issues with pilling whatsoever. When I wash mine, I air dry them and then give them maybe 10-15 mins on a gentle tumble dry to make sure they’re soft again. One of my most worn LLL items!
