I would like to refrain from drilling through ny firewall to get this plug into the cab. Its for a bed salter. If I cut the cables and use quick disconnects for future removal. Would there be any big risks in doing so?

for something like a bed salter there’s not as much ofa risk. make sure it is wired and fused properly.

De-pin the connector. It’s much easier and better than cutting and splicing. De-pinning tools can be had for cheap and often just a small pick or screwdriver can un pin. Run your cable through and just re pin it. Take photographs before you do this so you get the wires correctly placed back into the plug
