Was wondering what people’s coffee setups are.

I’ll start. I mainly drink espresso and piccolo’s. But also have several Moka pots that only get used once every few months since getting the BDB.

    • aeropress
    • cheap electric burr grinder
    • electric kettle

I’ve got a Chemex, Mokapot, and French Press. I find that I can’t enjoy the Mokapot and generally the French press and Chemex don’t add more flavor to my very simple beans. I occasionally break them out if I get some very fancy beans, though.

I don’t think I ever mastered the aeropress. I prefer the moka pot. I might have to revisit it at some point to see what I was doing wrong.

I’ve had it for about 3 years now, and really like it. It’s more manual than other Brevilles, which is what I wanted, so I find that means I can make better coffee that those other machines - especially the milk. Highly recommend.

Yeah I have one as well and I’m really enjoying it. Good to hear it’s still going strong. I’ve only had mine for about 6 months.

I have a Rocket Giotto and has been going strong for the past 15 years. I had the panels powder coated matt black when I did a routine service about 3 years ago.

Paired with a Kafatek Monolith Flat coffee grinder. Incredible hand crafted machine.

I mainly drink lattes and espresso.

Thanks. I think it’s close to the end game. I have my eye on a Decent Espresso machine, but that’s a future thing!

We picked up the exact same unit for our small office a few years back. Nothing fancy but with good beans it makes a good cup of coffee. It probably makes somewhere in the order of 10 coffees a day and hasn’t missed a beat since 2019.

Clean it once a week (don’t buy the tablets, you can use the same powder the cafes use and it’s way cheaper) and descale every 3 months. Our water isn’t too hard so we don’t need that so much.

Its not too fancy but gets the job done. I only drink coffee in the morning so I did the math as I used to spend more than $1200 every year on coffee and after buying this for $550 + milk +beans, it brings my total to around $800. Plus it saves time as now I dont have to go to the coffee shop.

Yeah, I was buying at least 1-2 coffees a day. I only buy around 2-3 a week now (when I’m not at home). I’m also getting to the point where I’m happier with the quality of coffee at home than what I’m getting at a cafe.

A Breville BarAroma BCG450, which I modified to grind slightly finer. It doesn’t grind fine enough for espresso, but for pour over and aeropress it’s great value. I’ve had it for almost 15 years now.

Aeropress is my daily driver, it’s consistent and simple. Exactly what I need to get me through the day.

I have a V60, usually for the weekend or for testing new beans. I don’t use it every day, just because it’s a little more involved than the aeropress.

And a small bialetti moka, just for something different.

I need to get myself a milk frother for guests, but my budget set up works great for me.

Bamboo Plus and Smart Grinder, does the job. My starter setup but would like to eventually upgrade to the dual boiler and a better grinder.

Nice. That’s a good combo. I’m looking forward to getting an electric grinder. The hand grinder is going well, but would love something a little quicker and easier haha.

I was going to go for that, but I ended up pledging on the Timemore Sculptor Kickstarter campaign. So waiting for that to arrive now, which likely won’t be until end of year.

Nothing at all. Caffeine doesn’t make me less sleepy. It just makes me anxious and tired. And I have to piss and shit more when I drink the stuff.

If I need a pick-me-up, I’ll pop an adderall. Energy without anxiety.
