Is this considered structural damage? It’s painted the same colour as my car and was pushed back and is poking through the front wheel arch after a collision. Is this the frame of the car? Just thinking if insurance is likely to categorise it as structurally damage and write it off. I showed it to someone and they said it might be possible to hammer or bend it back, is that right?

Thank you for your time

plastic wheel liner, they can be purchased for sub 75usd from a dealership in pairs. an easy enough DIY repair but you can ignore it altogehter if you live in a state that dosen’t salt the roads. the kick from salt can rust out the frame near the wheels, thats why they get installed there

I was thinking more of the orange thing. I know the black arch is plastic but the orange thing felt like metal to me. I might be mistaken but it felt really hard and stiff

is the rest of your car orange? thats your car subframe. if its bare booty orange then there is no corrosion spray on that part of the frame and it could get chipped off on your next 200miles. if you’re southwest just duct tape that b up, otherwise replace the liner

Yeah the car is the same colour orange. I am in the UK. I am assuming the wheel liner will have to be replaced as it’s cracked after a collision but was just wondering if that part can be repaired too
