GF has a top trim '23 that I drive sometimes. Glad to have real buttons back, but not sure why everyone is so excited over. Looks like the steering wheel loses the lower hand rests, which are very nice for freeway cruising with HDA on. Design looks like it’s inspired by minimalist interiors (Tesla, Polestar), without actually being minimalist.

Bit of an aside - why did absolutely everybody (for certain values of everybody) suddenly went for a tablet-on-a-dash look for the gauge cluster? I don’t remember seeing it outside of ID.3 when I was looking for a car in 2019, now it’s hard to find an exception. In new models or refreshes, obviously.

Bigger screens sell and at some point there is no way to integrate a screen that big into the dash plus there are often two screen size options on different trims.

Very happy with mine, but damn if this interior isn’t making me itch to get this update even though there’s no way I can comfortably afford it, hah.

lmao at the countless manufacturers who removed all physical controls only to have to re-implement them the next refresh cycle because touch controls in a vehicle are the dumbest fucking idea since broken glass slushies.

Current model’s interior is the only reason I passed on this car. This version looks a bit better for sure.
