The article details sexual harassment allegations and a Title IX investigation into MSU’s head coach Mel Tucker.
Feel free to discuss/speculate on what this means for Tucker and Michigan State in this thread, but please refrain from making light of the situation due to the serious nature of the allegations.
Well if this isn’t a fucking yikes…
Yeah, if true this is both tragic and stupid.
I imagine they will suspend him like we did with Chris Beard, and then fire him for cause once their lawyers have combed through the contract to make sure he can’t sue. Although they may have to wait until the Title IX investigation concludes.
Secondary coach Harlon Barnett will serve as the acting head coach with Mark Dantonio – one of the most successful head coaches in program history – returning to the Spartans as an associate head coach, Michigan State athletic director Alan Haller announced Sunday. Dantonio will be an on-field assistant for Michigan State who will wear a headset either on the sidelines or up in a booth.
I understand bringing Dantonio back to try to bring a sense of normalcy back to the program while the season is underway. But I think they really need to overhaul the whole athletic department. They’ve had scandal after scandal and really need to reset.
The leadership of MSU needs to go, how many more of these stories have to come out of MSU before they are no longer isolated incidents?
Reads to me like leadership have willingly fallen asleep at the wheel. Who could replace them? The state legislature? The governor?
This is bizarre and sad. My guess is that she’s telling the truth, and he acted like an entitled manchild who couldn’t tell the difference between friendly networking and wanting that D.
No clue why some dudes just don’t live in the real world but unfortunately all too common :/
