4 stickers placed on different areas of a supermarket. 1, 2, and 4 use the green colours and logo of Woolworths. The third is red with the Coles logo, with a red hand pointing downwards with its middle finger.
Special: You deserve steak for dinner. You can’t afford it, but you deserve it.
Special: We understand that times are tough, and that’s why we pay our CEO over $20,000 a day. That’s the median wage of a Tasmanian before the end of the week!
Special: If you see someone shoplifting, no you didn’t.
Special: We’ve made over $1 billion in profits whilst you can’t even afford bread.
Eat the rich
Brutal. They make me feel all funny, like I’m poorer than the median wage.
FYI wages are really high in Australia.
I make almost double down there.
Cost of living used to be high, but has not risen nearly as much as it has here in Canada.
Life is pretty easy down under comparatively.
I’ll let all the homeless people know!
I’d assume you definitely aren’t working on a minimum wage? Everyone who is has taken significant pay cuts plus the casualisation of the workforce is reaching up there.
In the US: Supermarkets are making record profits year over year.
Also in the US: police are shooting shoplifters. This is just last week.
Stealing is one of, if not the worst crime you can commit in the US, punishable in many states by execution without trial by…pretty much anyone present.
Fuck the police
Fuck yes
Nice signs, very well done.
Where does the QR code go to? Can’t get them to work on my phone
Especially agree with bottom left! I’ve(US) heard some store security will legit look the other way if people are stealing food because likely that’s the only way that person will eat. I get it’s not a standard or anything.
Was in the local Woolies a couple of days ago, and there was a queue for the register with an employee serving, and there were vacant self serve spots. And it was working because I walked straight up and used one of those self serve spots.
Still can’t work it out… Is there some sort of protest ? And should I join it?
I’ll wait a little bit for a manned register, particularly if I’ve got a lot of stuff or items that will give me grief at the self checkout (e.g. really light things). I’m not going to hang around for ages but I’ll take the inconvenience of losing a couple of minutes over the inconvenience of dealing with a self serve checkout.
Mmmmmm that’s good satire.
I heard that colesworth already reported this to police so next time the legends walk into any store will get arrested.
How bout we just stop buying shit from colesworth? Please tell your boomer parents as I have noticed its mostly boomers at colesworth.
Similar situation at commbank.
How bout we just stop buying shit from colesworth?
You say that, and I agree they are bastards, but what’s your option?
We grow a lot we eat, but that can actually be more expensive. aldi? Not any cheaper if you target sale items elsewhere and with dietary allergies they just don’t sell everything we need.
We are rural so iga types who are 25 to 125 percent more expensive.
Just trapped by large corporates it seems
True. I think the only solution is growing your own veggies and only buying the ones you can’t grow. For example- i’ll buy few chooks and that’ll help me with my eggs supply also grow lettuce, beans etc. Now if everyone starts doing this, demand is reduce and supply will increase.
Probably beyond the reach of most people, for example if you aren’t prepared to cull the chickens at some stage you’ll be feeding an aging flock that isn’t producing eggs for years. Feeding then properly is expensive unless you let them free range and feed them scraps which will in turn reduce the eggs they are likely to lay
Homesteading and being self sufficient can be very expensive
Food isn’t getting more expensive because of a lack of supply. It’s just greed. And covid and greed.
Stopping participation in society isn’t really a solution. Vote with your wallet doesn’t work when there are few options and it’s an inelastic good
How bout we just stop buying shit from colesworth?
Easier said than done for busy, working families. ALDI used to be cheaper than Colesworth (sometimes still are, but getting rare nowadays) but we found ourselves having to chuck “fresh” produce only a couple of days after being bought. Waste of money.
We do what we can - we buy our eggs from the local chicken farm, meat from our local independent butcher (way better quality anyway), and bread from the bakery, but there’s just no other option for household items and other groceries.
Colesworth has us by the balls, and they fucking know it. They can crap on about ALDi and IGA all they like, but they’re a duopoly or, at least, they definitely act like it.
Damn, sounds like a bunch of other legends are about to rise, or someone’s gonna have a spicy story to tell next family reunion
