I often wished this was the banner over at /r/woodworking so we had something to point to that would clear up a lot of concerns.

But think how many negative dollars you save by building it yourself!
I have shifted to focusing on ending up with higher quality furniture for slightly less!
… Disregarding the thousands of dollars of tools and hundreds of hours of time involved, and the years of experience to stop being shit at making furniture
Why buy something when you could spent dozens of hours and * checks watch * wait, also spend way more money??
Even doing it by hand is a large outlay to get going, if you want to do anything beyond nailing two boards together.
Hell, just getting two boards is expensive these days lol
