Both parties are reactionary, and ideology is faith, because neither is materialistic.

      So it’s a nonsense take.

The federalist society is Catholic which means like the entire us judicial system is run by Catholic reactionaries. Catholics are outnumbered, by raw follower numbers but the catholics are damn close when it comes to total power wielded in the US

Yes, but their doctrines are mainly evangelical in order to pander to their primary base.

I can call myself any religion I want, but that doesn’t mean much if I go around appealing to the doctrines of another.

Empty balloon. Even bible says “you will know them by their fruits” and his fruit is soap bubble. Nothing he says is of any consequence whatsoever to the real church politics.

Well, he’s less vile than the likes of John Paul 2, Pius 12 or Benedict 16 but that’s not saying much.

He has an effective marketing strategy where he says things that sound like change that make headlines, and then later clarifies that nothing actually is going to change in a release that has 1% of the coverage.

He’s just another pope, none push for material change. There is no real difference between the 1st pope and this one, they are basically just figures to attract donations i wouldn’t be surprised if some billionaire made a donation for him to say this.

Lame. He’ll say shit supporting gay people, but he’s still a catholic st the end of the day. There’s a video of a boy asking him if his dead atheist father went to heaven. The answer is no, but Francis just tells the crow to pray for him and his father and that’s it lol

        What? Why lie?

He specifically says that unbelievers are not abandoned by God and are judged for their actions rather then their faith.

Further he says “Talk to your father”, implying that his father is in heaven as communication does not reach those who have been banished to Hell or Purgatory.

I didn’t lie. Maybe I misremembered or the specific video I watched cut out some parts, but I came out of it more amused than anything. Besides, the pope is lying here considering non believers who refuse to believe after being exposed to the ‘word of god’ are condemned to hell, as per the Bible and the Vatican’s own words after Francis suggested otherwise.

That’s not Catholic belief, that’s Mormon belief. Catholics believe that those that are not Catholics, but still “earnestly seek God”, are considered seeking the Holy Spirit and if they live their lives well, then they are allowed salvation. That means other religions are allowed salvation, Muslims, Buddhists, Hinduists, etc etc.

Atheists are the ones left out in the cold. Though they aren’t sent to Hell, they are judged be action and they can reach purgatory and then heaven, but not heaven right away.

            Catholic doctrine is weird.

Plus the Catholic Church is like a Congress. They have debated these questions for millennia, and there have been dozens of different camps and interpretations. Even the original disciples split in their own interpretations.

What the church says at one time is not representative if the entire faith, it’s definitely a weird contradiction.

No, the US conservatives are using the word the right way, and they know exactly the consequences of their actions.

The word is not being abused. They know their policies are ideological, but still push forward, not because it’s morally correct, but because it will benefit them.

After all, they created the ideology.
