      @matt@mstdn.games

      I’ve tried to get into the sequel on several occasions, but somehow it feels like it misses that spark that made the original so incredible…

      Then again, I wouldn’t even know how to even start to attempt to replicate it.

        @OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games is that Catalyst? I never played it. One of the reasons the first game was so good is that the story was written by Rihanna Pratchett.

        It’s difficult replicating that “lightning in a bottle” effect on a truly unique game like this.

          @matt@mstdn.games that’s the one.
          One of the issues was that it focused more on combat.
          But overall, it just felt a bit off.
          Still a really good game though. But yeah. Not the same.

    @OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games Mirror’s Edge is one of the few games from the 2000s that I think has aged flawlessly. The controls, art-style and overall atmosphere is just timeless. Mirror’s Edge was also one of the first games I played on a computer. I played it on my dad’s old laptop; it ran like garbage but I still had a ton of fun playing it because it felt like a parkour sandbox.
